Amateur Art Series: This exciting six-week series of art workshops designed for the amateur artist. These classes are meant for people who have little or no experience in the arts, but have a desire to learn about drawing, painting, and the creative process. Open to all ages. Movie of the Month: Enjoy a film appreciation series featuring a different classic movie each month. Each presentation includes informative handouts and study guides. Participants will engage in group discussions of each film, as well as discuss various film related topics. This series will explore various film styles and genres. Free popcorn is provided. Simply Writing: A simple creative writing class for beginners. Learn the basics of writing, tools for starting, and how to make your stories more creative. This class is for anyone interested in getting their stories on paper. Participants will work on a story of their own while adding and enhancing their individual creativity. Cost: None. Night Writers Group: Local poets and writers are invited to join in a monthly writing group held the second Thursday of each month in the Gold Mind Café. This series is open to both experienced and beginning writers interested in sharing their work, getting feedback, and supporting each other. Each session will include a chance to share and discuss work, and monthly writing exercises will motivate and invigorate your creative spirit. Cost: None. Single Lens Reflex 1: Do you have a single lens reflex camera? Would you like to have fun taking better pictures? This six-week series is a great place to get started. Explore the major features and controls of cameras and lenses. “Hands-on” training and outside assignments are designed to improve photographic skills. Basic Darkroom: In this four-week workshop explore what goes on in the black and white darkroom. Develop black and white film and learn to print black and white photographs. Marshfield Area Songwriter’s & Musician’s Association (MASMA):
Open to experienced and beginning songwriters and musicians interested in sharing their work, getting feedback, and supporting each other in creating original music and songs. Scrap & Yap: A social club for scrap booking enthusiasts. Is this something you’ve always wanted to do? Organize your pictures that have been sitting in boxes for years into a beautiful keepsake.
